Our sweet daughter is two and I still have no idea how time goes by so quickly. I have to say, as much as she is entering the “terrible twos” quickly, this age is SO fun. She is learning left and right and showing us her personality more and more daily. While we didn’t have a traditional birthday party for her, we did have a day of celebrations. I skip the party for the second year for a couple reasons: 1) my kids have never cared at that age and 2) I’ve always been decently pregnant and so a simple day sounds better. So here you have it: Hadley Rose: Second Birthday.
Hadley Rose turns 2!
So while I didn’t go overboard with a party this year, I did have the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with a small shop called Striped Olive for this darling summer dress. The shop owner was the sweetest to work with and had amazing turnaround time. I was late to the planning game this year (ya know, pregnancy brain and what not) but she had this sewn and shipped out to me in DAYS. She is based out of California and makes and sells these adorable little dolls that can MATCH your daughter’s dress as well. So if you are looking for something unique, head over to her website or Instagram page.
Hadley’s birthday this year coincidentally fell on Father’s Day. So Emmett and I celebrated both of them with Starbucks, Mexican food and a park trip. Perfect Sunday, right? We may or may not have snuck a Target run in there as well 😉
So what is Hadley up to these days? Well she weighs roughly 21 lbs, wears clothes ranging from 18 months to 2T, and is picking up new words daily. She has a couple catch phrases which crack me up. The best being “here you go” which sounds more like “ej-yah-go” and she is very insistent upon it. Speaking of insistent, if she wants you to follow her, she stops, looks at you and stands there with her hands telling you to “COME!”
She is obsessed with dolls, puppies, cats, music + dancing, and can eat her weight in snacks. Emmett and her have shared a room officially since January and it has worked out really well for all of us. She has sass and spunk that gets her in trouble daily but also the sweetest kisses and hugs that make your heart feel like it is literally melting.
Hadley got glasses!
Hadley got glasses back in January due to the beginning stages of Amblyopia and will most likely have glasses (contacts) for the rest of her life. She wears them like a champ and I am convinced half of my Instagram followers stick around because of those purple frames. <3
She is ready to be a big sister and I know is going to love this baby so much. I can already see her and Emmett fighting over the baby.
To know Hadley is to love Hadley and I feel honored to raise her (and slightly scared, let’s be real!). Thank You God for placing her into our lives. We pray she always know just how deep and high is the love of Christ for her.
We love you Hadley girl.
